Emerald Ash Borer in Dakota County

posted Jan 6, 2015, 3:41 PM by Julie Moore

Emerald ash borer (EAB) was recently found in Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan. The Department of Ag has placed a quarantine on Dakota County effective January 1, 2015. Quarantined areas now include Hennepin, Ramsey, Dakota, Olmsted, Houston, and Winona counties. The quarantine is designed to limit the movement of materials infested with EAB. In addition to trees and firewood, regulations apply to the movement and processing of yard waste – and organics collected with yard waste.
